About

Seeing a movie at the cinemas is a past time enjoyed by many, however this experience can be ruined if things don’t go to plan. While the ability to book movie tickets online has definitely improved the process of going to the cinema, no one likes waiting in a queue.

With the advancements of technology, many are exploring new ways to make everyday life easier. One of these innovations is self-service machines. Becoming popular in supermarkets and airports, these machines, give users and companies the ability to create efficient and time saving processes. This is an idea I believe has the potential to be implemented into Australian movie cinemas.

This website is a collection of research done by myself, a media and communications student from the University of Wollongong.  I have gathered qualitative data through a survey on movie cinema and self-service experiences.

Presented in a series of blogs, I have covered topics including the introduction of self-service machines in Australia, self-service machines at cinemas internationally, and Event Cinemas as a potential stakeholder for this research. I have also given people the opportunity to give their vote on a poll and join in a discussion on the topic in a social forum.
